ELA Wednesday Nov 25: Writing a Mad Lib
We are going to write our own Mad Libs. We will write one together as a class and then you will write one on your own, following these steps. 1. Choose ONE of these topics: - A Day on the Soccer Field - My Time at Disneyland - The Substitute Teacher - A Birthday Celebration - A New Pet 2. Write a story about your topic. These are the rules: - you need at least EIGHT ADJECTIVES and THREE ADVERBS - singular and plural nouns are okay - present or past tense verbs are okay - your story should be THREE paragraphs - each paragraph should have at least 4 sentences - DOUBLE SPACE your writing 3. AFTER you have completed your story AND underlined all the different parts of speech, you are ready for the next step. Decide which of these underlined words you are going to eliminate. DO NOT DELETE/ERASE the words yet, you might put them back in after peer review. 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐡. Please see the attached example. ⚠️THIS WILL BE EASIER TO DO IF YOU WRITE IT OUT ON PAPER THAN IF YOU USE GOOGLE DOCS. ⚠️Hand in your edited assignment before tomorrow. ⚠️If you need access to your google docs assignment that you already submitted, simply make a copy of that assignment by clicking on FILE and choosing MAKE A COPY from the drop down menu.
ELA Wednesday Dec 9: MadLibs Final Copy Step 2
Make a copy of your final copy from Step 1. Add FOOTNOTES to your underlined words. You need to label each word that will be replaced with noun, verb, adjective or adverb. You can be more specific if you want. Footnotes are found under INSERT on the top menu.
