To help the students understand Pink Shirt Day, I initiated a school-wide kindness challenge. The students shared experiences they observed or participated in where someone was being kind and we wrote them down on strips of paper that we connected together to create a large kindness chain. The challenge culminated in an assembly presented by the Kindergarten class that I organized, where the students shared their learning with the rest of the school. I also made pink shirts with the Kindergarten students that they could where for Pink Shirt Day.
